Technical Specification
Typical DC Drive system would comprise the following:
AC Input Power HT Circuit Breaker, Converter Transformer, Thyristor Converter, Digital drive regulator, DC Choke, Output DC Circuit breaker or Contactor. In addition, Dynamic breaking facility is also provided wherever necessary, for faster braking. In some cases, AC line reactor is also provided, when no separate input transformer is available. The drives are available in 2-Q & 4-Q as per the application requirement.

- A CGSTACK system implemented at Tata Steel, Hot Strip Mill, is for 5400KW/1000Vdc Motor reversing roughing Mill with hot redundant bridges in parallel for a maximum current of 20KA and has been implemented in 2006-07 in 12-pulse configuration. This was completed in 36 hrs.
- A CGSTACK system implemented at Tata Steel, Hot Strip Mill, is for 2670KW/1000Vdc Motor Finishing Mill with hot redundant bridges in parallel for a maximum current of 10KA and has been implemented in 2005-06 in 12-pulse configuration. This was completed 24 hrs.
- A CGSTACK system implemented at SAIL-DSP, Section Mill, is for 2500KW/1000Vdc Motor Main stand with hot redundant bridges in parallel for a maximum current of 2.4KA has been implemented in 2007-08 in 12-pulse configuration. This was completed in 2 days.
